Yankuam Lodge is located in the Nangaritza valley. This area has been isolated because of the border problem between Ecuador and Peru. Since 1998 a peace agreement was written between Ecuador and Peru and therefore this area could be accessed. Opening the possibility for the people to discover this area in all its natural, cultural aspects. Yankuam Lodge is working in the hospitality industry to let people know about the beauty of this area.
Yankuam Lodge is a family business, working with our own resources. Our vision is to be able to show the beauty of the area. In this area we can get to know the Shuar community which is known for its custom of reducing the heads of its enemies. This area is also known by ornithologists for all more than five hundred bird species. In which the orange throated tanager is in the endemic list.

Both are retired teachers.
Carlos normally is the guide while Clarita loves her flowers and prepares really good food.
